Dual Haus is a sensitive A&A intervention to a multi-generational landed home, centred around the kitchen as the heart of family life. Designed for a family that treasures bonding over food and conversation, the project redefines spatial relationships to prioritise togetherness, accessibility, and adaptability for years to come.
The design centres around an expanded kitchen zone—both a functional workspace and a shared communal hub—anchoring the home physically and emotionally.
At the core of the extension is a new kitchen concept: one that celebrates daily rituals and communal interaction. The once-enclosed wet kitchen was opened up and reimagined as an interactive space equipped with cutting-edge appliances, generous preparation areas, and smart storage.
To further enhance connectivity, the kitchen now opens directly to an external courtyard, blurring indoor and outdoor boundaries and extending the usable footprint. This courtyard serves as an informal gathering or dining space, encouraging flexible, all-day use.
Discreetly located behind a full-height carpentry wall adjacent to the kitchen are essential utility zones—a powder room and laundry area—efficiently integrated without visual clutter.
